Huangpu District's IPR salon to solve the difficulties of private enterprises were successfully held

With the continuous improvement of China's legal system and the progress of society, especially after the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China proposed the development strategy of building an innovative society, intellectual property rights will increasingly penetrate into various fields of the national economy. It has become an indicator of whether modern enterprises have core competitiveness and an important source of profits for enterprises.

In September 2017, the State Administration for Industry and Commerce officially established Shanghai Trademark Review Collaboration Center in order to further support Shanghai to promote trademark registration and facilitation reform, implement trademark brand strategy, promote the effective use and accumulation of trademark brands, promote the overseas development of trademark brands, and strengthen the protection of trademark exclusive rights.

Huangpu District also attaches great importance to the development of private enterprises in the region, deeply understands the spirit of the central and municipal governments, and responds promptly to the intellectual property confusion encountered by private enterprises in the region during the operation and management process.

On the afternoon of July 18, 2019, the Huangpu District Commerce Commission, the Huangpu District Judicial Bureau and the Huangpu District Federation of Industry and Commerce jointly hosted a special event – “the Huangpu District's IPR salon to solve the difficulties of private enterprises”. Leaders and guests attending the event were: Yang Dongyu, deputy director of the Huangpu District Judicial Bureau; Lin Haihan, member of party committee of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Office and director of the Shanghai Trademark Review Collaboration Center; and Sun Jiarong, deputy secretary general of the Shanghai Financial Information Industry Association.

The event was supported by Huangpu District SME Service Center and Shanghai Trademark Review Collaboration Center, co-organized by Shanghai Financial Information Industry Association and Shanghai W&W Partners.

During the meeting, the guests and entrepreneurs under the leadership of the staff visited the work scene of the examiner of the Shanghai Trademark Review Collaboration Center; learned the relevant policies of the international registration of the Madrid trademark; and reviewed the history of the trademark development.

The event also invited the member of party committee of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Office and director of the Shanghai Trademark Review Collaboration Center, to present a wonderful and lively speech on the theme “Trademarks should be entrepreneurs' feelings – The understanding of trademarks in the new era of pursuing high quality”.

In the interactive communication session at the end of the event, the participants expressed that this event gave them more intuitive and comprehensive understanding of the importance of intellectual property rights to the development of the enterprise, and helped them understand the intellectual property risks that might be touched in business management and avoid touching the legal red line.

In the future, our company also needs to adjust and optimize its own development strategy to incorporate intellectual property into our key work.
